Say goodbye
to cheesy fingers!

SLICE, SERVE, STORE

No more cheesy fingers! The cheese box with its integrated cheese slicer provides you both hygienic storage and easy use without any need to touch the cheese. For every slice you cut, the base is pulled upwards, keeping the cheese ready for the next craving.

HYGIENIC STORAGE

The container is both the handle for cutting the cheese and double-walled to keep the cheese cold at the table. When you’re done, just put the lid on and place the box in the fridge where it fits in most doors.

The cutting wire can be replaced if needed.

THE THOUGHTS BEHIND THE DESIGN

Back in 2002, Marcus Vagnby designed the first version of the cheese box, which has since been refined and redesigned several times, and now presents the perfect combination of form and function. The container is both the handle for cutting the cheese and double-walled to keep the cheese cold at the table. In addition, the box contains a ‘cheese elevator’ that lifts the cheese up exactly one slice thickness for every revolution of the cheese slicer. The box is trapezoidal in shape, which both provides space for the box’s functions and gives it a distinctive design and good grip. With the elegant lid, the entire cheese box can be placed directly in the fridge.

The design duo Studio mencke&vagnby, who are behind the Rosti Classic cheese box, have a clearly defined approach to the design process. For Karina Mencke and Marcus Vagnby, the creative process is the key to achieving excellent results. Asking questions, experimenting with new ideas, and demonstrating an understanding of both history and contemporary times provide the opportunity to shape the future. A future where consumption must be rethought to preserve the world we live in. Designing high-quality, timeless products extends the lifecycle of products.

The cheese string can easily be changed when needed. The cheese box with integrated cheese cutter gives you both hygienic storage and use without having to touch the cheese.

Good design is the result of a successful creative process that takes into account function, aesthetics, production method, material selection, product lifecycle and market position, among other things. This non-linear process is constantly changing, finding its own shape from project to project, becoming fluid and unpredictable as both the design and the designers evolve. Each task is discussed together, designed, and discussed again to achieve the best result. The customer is involved and designs are often customised to meet requests. Feedback and constructive criticism in the development phase always help to
improve a project.
